I've read that Aion is a Korean game. Does this mean the player base will be primarily Korean? I don't have any problem with Korean people or anything, but I can imgaine it'd be about as much for me fun as playing in the international districts of GW.
I'm aslo waiting for Hellgate London, but I haven't really kept up with it. I've just seen the screenshots and I happen to obsessed with the theme.

Aion is being produced by NCSoft, which is a Korean company. That's why it's a "Korean game."
As for MMO's I'm looking forward to, Aion and Tabula Rasa baby :P

No, no, I meant I will go for Aion no matter what, and it is not specified how much monthly, or if any at all exists for Aion. Afterwards I stated I would go for another game maybe with no monthly fee. GW is the only game, perhaps SilkRoad as well but too Asian, is the only game that came out right with no monthly fee.

I was looking forward to Vanguard and Lord of the Rings Online, but after beta testing both of them, I'm going to pass. I still have hopes for Conan, and plan on continuing on in Guild Wars.

After I read some of the newer announcements, totally waiting for Hellgate: London. It's not exactly an mmo, but kinda...
Flagship is another company with ex-blizzard devs like Anet. The game's kinda like D2 in that it can be played locally or online, but the online experience sounds a lot like GW.
Quote:
Aside from Hellgate: London's single-player campaign, one of the game's most unique features is that it will also have an online mode essentially functioning as an MMORPG. Most of the game is built on randomly-generated instanced dungeons, and when you log in, you'll be sharing an economy, an auction house, and other things (like a friends list) with everyone else in your part of the world. Non-instanced areas should be able to handle from 50 to a few hundred people at a time; once a common area gets clogged, the area gets cloned as more players join. As Roper told us, Hellgate is being designed to keep groups of people together so they don't find themselves split up if an area gets too crowded.
As if this wasn't interesting enough, Roper told us that Hellgate will have honest-to-goodness raid content for guilds to attack. While players will be able to complete the critical single-player path on their own, there will be some amount of content that will require large groups to complete. Flagship is also looking to roll out new content on a regular basis, with Roper citing City of Heroes' "issue" format as one possible model, with new quests and features that touch on many areas of gameplay.
|
Quote:
On another topic, Flagship CEO Bill Roper also reiterated that the game will feature a single-player and multiplayer component, and that the multiplayer will consist of both a free service and some kind of premium content service for those who want more. Details, though, are still being ironed out. Flagship continues to work on the game, and Hellgate is nearing its beta test. However, if all goes well, we can expect Hellgate to ship sometime this summer.
|
Quote:
"I think that just as Diablo and Diablo II started this religious argument over whether they're RPGs or not, I think that Hellgate will spark that same debate over whether it's an MMO or not," commented Roper, who added that the game has been designed as an MMO from day one.

I believe Aion is the most hyped TBA MMO from NCSoft right now. Vanguard and ArchLord both had some buzz in 2006, but nothing to back it up. Tabula Rasa is the one I am looking forward to right now. Aion would be something I definitly will play if the monthly fee is under $10, or like GW.
